A Theatre of the carnival culture, masks, grotesque and buffonade, was created in 1993 in Sankt Petersburg. It looks for inspiration in the authentic Baroque dances and historical art of fighting. During their interactive performances everyone gets a chance to become a King, a Knight, a Monster or just an intrigued spectator. The Russians in their spectacles charm us with, both terrible and beautiful masks, mysterious stories and magic, taken all from the best traditions of European Carnival. The masks and costumes are made during the workshops of theatre Pezo. Its artistic value was highly appreciated during exhibitions in the National Gallery in St. Petersburg and in Chaplin's Club in Vilnius. Mr. Pezo's Wandering Dolls are well klown to the audience of FETA as last year they have presented "Moresquierres". This summer we will have a chance to enjoy two spectacles: "Magota" and "White Procession" "White Procession" Director: Anna Skotnikova, Music Recording: Scotnikov Oleg Actors: Karpova Tamara, Rozanov Yaroslav, Guigov Dmitriy, Skotnikov Oleg As the evening falls the White Parade begins its procession. Slowly moving white figures with masks and lamplighters, a buffoon with magic Chinese lanterns, a pilgrim and a white lady. Spectators are drawn into this magic realism that juggles with illusions created by mirrors and lamps. Thanks to the Russian spectacle we will return to the world of legends and fairy tales. Its utopian atmosphere reveals our insides and the two sides of our nature: the good and the bad.
